Dr. Washington, the founder of Atlanta Neuromuscular
Diagnostics (AND), is a Board Certified Neurologist with subspecialty
expertise in neuromuscular disease and clinical neurophysiology. Her
level of expertise is a direct consequence of formal education and
clinical experience.
Dr. Washington began preparation as an undergraduate majoring in Pharmacy, at the University of Michigan. After graduation from the University of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Washington received residency training in Neurology at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan, followed by a fellowship in neuromuscular disease and clinical neurophysiology at the Duke University Medical Center. Dr. Washington joined the faculty in the Department of Neurology -- Emory University School of Medicine in 1991. Her active involvement in the Neurology Department included: the establishment of specialty clinics in neuromuscular disease; Acting Director and Director of the Electromyography Laboratory at the Emory Clinic and Grady Hospital, respectively; Resident and Fellow training in neurophysiology and neuromuscular disease; participation in clinical research and, the evaluation and care of patients with neuromuscular disorders. In addition, Dr. Washington has contributed to the American Academy of Neurology through her committee leadership, and development and instruction of curriculum pertinent to her field of expertise. She actively serves the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology as an Examiner, and has done so for the past six years. With the preparation and experience listed, Dr. Washington is uniquely qualified for the evaluation and consultation of patients with back and neck pain, diseases of the nerve and muscle, fibromyalgia and other associated disorders. |
